Diamondport Jewellers Design Scholarship Program - 2024

At Diamondport Jewellers, we believe that design comes first. There are many facets of the jewellery trade, but we’ve found little interest for people to enter it at the design level. 

We believe that needs to change. 

We believe that there should be more opportunities for someone to start their career or further advance their studies in jewellery design.

We are one of Australia’s finest bespoke jewellers specialising in handcrafted diamond engagement rings. Our on-site jewellery designers and master jewellers craft beautiful jewellery, made to the highest standard in our Brisbane Studio located above the Queen Street Mall. Core to our business has been a passion for fostering talent that not only helps us grow our business, but also benefits the jewellery industry for decades to come. 

What is included in the Scholarship?

The Diamondport Jewellers Design Scholarship Program is for an individual who displays eagerness to learn all aspects of design with a particular interest in jewellery design. The individual will also be offered opportunities to work with our team of designers and master jewellers.

The successful applicant will receive a scholarship of $7,500, to contribute to their choice of design-related further education*.  

Who is eligible?

All applicants based in Australia will be considered for the Design Scholarship Program if they have been either accepted or have enrolled in an Australian University, TAFE or other qualifying registered design course. 

What do I include in my submission?

1. Cover letter outlining:

• Full name, phone number and email address
• In 200 words, explain why you want to work in design and your interest jewellery design
• The course you wish to complete and with which institution.

2. A one-minute video introducing yourself to Diamondport Jewellers along with explaining your experience and passion for all aspects of design.

How do I apply?

All applicants should send their submissions to enquiries@diamondport.com.au 

Only the applicants who complete both the cover letter and the video will be considered. 

*Terms & Conditions: 

Submissions must be received via email to Diamondport Jewellers by midnight on the 30th of November 2024. The successful applicant will be chosen by 15th of January 2025. Diamondport Jewellers retains all rights to determine which applicant is successful. The successful applicant will be required to provide proof of current enrolment in a design-related course nominated based in Australia prior to receiving the $7,500 scholarship.
